ALLY'S STORY
Ally has been competing in cross country and track and field since she was 9 years old. When she first joined track, she was a competitive dancer, and split her time between training for track and ballet class. She switched her focus solely to running In high school, where she won the bronze medal in the 3000m at the BC Track and Field Championships in her senior year. This landed her a scholarship to the University of Idaho to run track and cross country, where she competed for 4 years. After a stress fracture in 2017 led her to red shirt a season, she was able to run her last year at Simon Fraser University while completing her teaching degree. At SFU, Ally cut down her 5000m personal best from 17:30 to 16:43 and competed at the NCAA DII Track and Field Championships in this event. After university, Ally started working with coach Mark Bomba, who helped her cut down her 5000m personal best even further down to 15:55. Ally has coached high school track and cross country since she started teaching in 2018 and will be starting her Masters in Coaching Education in July 2022.
